Hello again everyone.
Blogs can be a lot of fun if you don’t take yourself too seriously. If you bother to look, you can find blogs about almost every subject. There are lots of political blogs … as if people really care what anyone else thinks about politics. There are lots of “how to” blogs. I think these can be helpful, particularly when the blogger is not too condescending in his or her instructions. And, as you might guess, there are lots of blogs about how to train your dog. (I don’t read those, but the old lady does.)
My blog does not intend to take anything seriously. I refer to myself as Johnny Ringo after the notorious outlaw featured in the movie “Tombstone”. Why? I don’t know. He’s one of those quiet, confident, outlaws that the other gang members respect. It might also have something to do with the fact that I refer to my cousin, Bill Collins, as Curley Bill, after the character of the same name in “Tombstone”. Ringo and Curley were friends and the leaders of the Outlaws. Bill and I are the leaders of our respective families … and when we camp together, we see fit to take on our outlaw personas from time to time.
If you are not familiar with these characters from the movie, I recommend you rent and watch the film. It is one of my favorite westerns.
Anyway, I hope you like my blog. If not, well, don’t read it. No sense torturing yourself on my account. But if you do read it, please provide some feedback. I surely can’t improve without constructive criticism and I’m always in the mood for compliments.
Sincerely yours, Ringo
