Smokies — Day 3

Hello again everyone.

Sunny skies greeted us this morning. Another beautiful day in one of God’s paradises here in the US.

We went  on the Jake Creek Trail this morning. It was up hill as far as we were willing to walk. That was about 1.7 miles. It wore us out.

We were reminded of the trail recommended by Calvin B. Kent. If you recall Calvin B. Kent was the Author of a book recommended to us by Bob McCarty. We were in Ouray when we took that hike.

After the hike and we went back to the campsite for lunch. Right after lunch we were invaded by six turkeys. Now I’m not talking about the people kind of turkeys I’m talking about the bird. They were pecking about on the ground which the old lady found very entertaining.

We have some video to share when we have a better Internet connection.

The old lady went on a cleaning rampage this afternoon. Sarah’s Dutch oven has never looked better. And the Weber Grill is in perfect condition to cook steaks for dinner.

It has been a very relaxing trip for both of us. We are not sure if we are going to come back. If the weather continues like this I don’t know why we would ever leave him.

Thanks for reading and stay tuned.
