Grotto Falls Trail

Hello again everyone.

Another beautiful day in paradise. Today we hiked the Grotto Falls Trail. It is a 2.6 mile (round-trip) hike through old growth forest to a modest waterfall. Nothing like the waterfalls we saw in Yosemite National Park.  But well worth the effort.

img_0586We are at the grocery store now getting supplies to make cornbread to go with our chili for dinner. We just had an ice cream treat as a reward for our hike.

Aren’t rewards great?

I saw the Giants beat the Mets for the privilege of playing the Cubs in the National League division series. The good thing about that series is that one of the teams I hate will be eliminated.

I also saw that the Orioles lost. That’s a bummer because I wanted to root for them. Now I’m not sure who our route four. Maybe the Nationals, because one of their starting pitchers is from St. Louis.

Last night we went into Gatlinburg to go to Walgreens and get some cold medicine for the old lady because she has cold symptoms. While we were there we went to one of the places that sell moonshine.

For five dollars they will let you sample a number of their products. The samples are very small but give you a taste of the stuff. We didn’t buy any. And I don’t think you get much more than a shot and a half in the 13 samples they give you.

Anybody want me to bring them some moonshine?

Choices are Sugarland’s brand and Old Smoky brand. Old Smoky is the first legal moonshine in Tennessee. The newest flavor seems to be peppermint. My favorite was salty caramel.

I don’t know what’s taking the old lady so long in the grocery store. The parking lots pretty full though so maybe the checkout line is also long. I don’t think you want me to continue writing until she’s finished so I’ll sign off now.

Thanks for reading and stay tuned.
